If you know me you know I'm a coffee fan! I love it hot, iced, black, with a splash or cream, or even decaf! One of my favorite things in the world is my protein coffee! I've always LOVED this product for my hot and iced coffees, but I have been steering clear of dairy and artificial sweeteners lately and so it's forced me to change it up a bit. Enter my Cocoa Collagen Cold Brew. It's my NEW obsession! I love it and look forward to it every day! It's dairy free, creamy, delicious, and the best thing of all is it's chock full of collagen peptides that are great for your hair, skin, nails, and joints! Who can say no to that? Plus, I'm not a huge fan of hot coffee when it's hot outside. There are lots of ways you can change this up but my basic recipe is below. If you try it, I'd love to hear what you think!

What is collagen?

Collagen is a protein found in your body. You actually produce it! As we age, our body slows down the production of collagen. Supplementing with collagen can help with joint pain, digestive health, skin elasticity, as well as with your hair and nails! Honestly, I love that it's good for me and that I *could* be benefiting my health, but it also tastes awesome so I'm a happy camper!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup cold brew concentrate or strong coffee*

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or other non dairy milk (I use vanilla)

  • 1 scoop chocolate collagen peptides**

  • Ice cubes

  • liquid stevia to taste

Directions:

  • Add the almond milk, cold brew, and 2 ice cubes to a blender cup.

  • Blend on high speed until well mixed.

  • Give it a taste. If you want it a little sweeter, add a touch of liquid stevia (a little goes a LONG way!)

  • Serve over ice!

  • Sometimes if I am feeling fancy I add a squirt of almond milk whipped cream. :)

*My VERY favorite cold brew concentrate is the Simple Truth Toasted Coconut Cold Brew Concentrate from Kroger. It makes the BEST iced coffees in my humble opinion.

**If you are not a chocolate fan you can try this with the vanilla collagen! It's still good I am just a chocolate girl by heart! I also LOVE the vanilla for baking! Check out my Peanut Butter Collagen Cookies!
