Anyone who knows me well or spends any time with me knows I LIVE for my iced protein coffee every morning. I am a Starbucks girl, but I would pick this protein coffee over ANY of their drinks.

Iced coffee splashes in a mason jar with a turquoise straw against a soft blue background. Swirls create a dynamic, refreshing feel.

It’s high protein, not full of sugar, and it gives me just the bump of happiness and energy I need to power through my morning.

I’ve been drinking it for years, and that being said (typed?), it has gone through MANY different versions. I’ve realized that the recipe I have shared on here, while still delicious isn’t the latest and greatest (in my opinion). This one has a few more ingredients, but it’s welllll worth it in my opinion to start your day in a high protein, high energy and caffeinated way!

Honestly, the saddest part of my day is after I take the last sip. I love it that much! I hope you enjoy it too

Various food and drink containers on a kitchen counter: protein powders, coffee, almond milk, and sweetener with a tiled backsplash.

INGREDIENTS:

🔹 ¾ cup (180g) unsweetened vanilla almond milk (any unsweetened non dairy milk can work-lower in cal than traditional milk)

🔹 80g Starbucks unsweetened coffee concentrate (or other coffee concentrate of choice)

🔹 Liquid stevia (to taste)

🔹 2g decaf instant coffee (for more coffee flavor without too much caffeine, trust me)

🔹 20-30g of your favorite protein powder. (see notes below)

🔹 100g water

Notes:

▪️You’ll notice everything in this recipe is in grams. This makes it SO easy. Grab your food scale, put your blender cup on it, and add in the specified weights of the ingredients. It comes together WAY quicker that way and you won’t have a bunch of things to wash, just your blender.

▪️Protein powder: I have been using Beverly Nutrition UMP for yearrrrrrs. It is, in my opinion, the best protein powder out there for taste and texture, especially if you aren’t a protein powder person.  That being said, it’s a casein/whey mix, so a bit thicker than traditional whey. If you have any digestive issues, sometimes casein can be an issue for people, in which case the legion whey (or even their plant+ protein) can be a great option. They are both super yummy, we all have our preferences. I get the question of which I use a LOT, and I use, and like both! Here’s a link to get a discount and double reward points off of your legion protein. I love the chocolate or rocky road UMP and my fav legion flavor in the coffee is salted caramel!  You really can’t go wrong.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Put your blender cup on your food scale and zero it out.

  2. Add 100g water, 180g almond milk, a squirt of liquid stevia,  and 80g coffee concentrate to the cup.

  3. Add 2g decaf instant coffee, 20g protein powder, and a couple large ice cubes (or 5 small) to the cup.

  4. Put the lid on and blend until combined

  5. Pour over ice in your favorite glass or insulated cup!

  6. Enjoy
